Camp Washington Letters, 1913-1916.

Letters from Jacob Allen Meyers of Meyers Falls, Washington to Otto Wollweber of Reardan. The letters discuss the location of Camp Washington and the location of the historical marker. In 1908, the Washington State Historical Society erected a historical marker, but many historians believed it was in the wrong place, including Meyers. The marker was changed in 1928.

Jacob A. Meyers was the son of L. W. Meyers, who operated one of the first flour mills in the Inland Northwest at Meyers Falls in 1863. Jacob Meyers joined his father in Stevens County in 1869 at the age of fourteen. Jacob Meyers later had an orchard at Meyers Falls. Because of his long association with the Inland Northwest, Meyers helped locate many locations for historic markers in the area.
